ourselves and each of us, our and each of our heirs, Executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these
presents, Sealed with our Seals and dated this Seventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and fifty two (1852)
                The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden James E. Douglass appointed
Collector of Dorchester County Shall well and faithfully execute his office and the Several duties required
of him, by law, and shall well and truly account for, and pay to the Commissioners for
Dorchester County, or their order the Several Sums of money which he shall receive or be answerable
for by law at such time as the law shall direct, then the above obligation to be void
or else to be and remain in full force and virtue in law.

Dorchester County, to wit:      Be it remembered that on this Seventh day of July in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two, personally appeared Alexander
H. Hurley & Thomas H. Hicks two of the Subscribers witnesses to the within Bond before
me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester
County aforesaid, and Severally made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that they
did See James E. Douglass, Josiah Carroll, Isaac Davis, Robert G. Rawleigh, Silas Fleming,
Henry D. Wright, James Davis, Charles W. Carroll, James R. Nicols, Sylvester H. Smith
Thomas Hackett obligors in the Said Bond, Sign Seal and deliver the said Bond as
their respective act and deed, and that they the said Alexander H. Hurley and
Thomas H. Hicks did subscribe their names as witness thereto

    Exd   from                  following Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 21st
William P. Pennington     day of July 1852 to wit
                               Know all men by these presents that I William P. Pennington
of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for and in Consideration of the Sum of
Two hundred dollars Current Money to me in hand paid by William H. Jordan of the
Same County and State aforesaid to and before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge, and the said William P. Pennington have
