same to be his act and deed for the purposes
therein set forth and at the same time
also appeared stephen Gorsuch the trustee
named in said Instrument of writing &
made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty
God that the consideration therein set
forth is true & bona fide as therein set
forth.  In witness whereof I have hereunto

James A. Meredith
& Talbott G. shipley all of Howard county
and state of maryland are held and
firmly bound unto the state of Maryland
in the full and just sum of two thousand
dollars current money to be paid
to the state of maryland.  To the which
payment well and truly to be made
and done we bind ourselves our
heirs executors and administrators
jointly and severally firmly by these
presents sealed with our seals and
dated this twenty ninth day of November
in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty five
The consideration of the above obligation is
such that if the above bounden columbus
W. Edmondson elected a constable in
the fourth Election District of Howard
county do and shall well and faithfully
execute the same office in all things
appertaining thereto and shall well and
faithfully execute all warrants and
