163 persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said Mare I the said charles Picket have put the said Jesse P. Todd in full possession by delivering to him the said Mare at the sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the said property hereby bargained and sold or Mentioned and intended to be so unto him the said Jesse P. Todd aforesaid. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal on this twenty ninth day of march in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty six signed sealed and delivered his in presence of Charles x Pickett (seal) M. B. S. Bussard mark State of maryland caroll Co To wit: And at the same time and place also appeared before me Jesse P. Todd the grantee in the said bill of sale named and made oath that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth witness my hand M. B. S. Bussard Justice of the Peace State of maryland Carroll county to wit: I hereby certify that M. B. S. Bussard Esquire before whom the aforegoing acknowledgment and affidavit were made and who has thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing Justice of the Peace of the state of maryland in and for Caroll county aforesaid duly commissioned and sworn In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe (seals) my name and affix the seal (Place) of the circuit court for Carroll county this 19 day of april 1856 Mo.
