above instrument of writing to be his act and deed and
at the same time comes the said Littleton Maclin and
makes oath the consideration mentioned in the said
bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth

Record of Negroes
James Simms and
Ann Isabella Simms
 In accordance with the provisions
of the act of assembly of December
session Eighteen hundred and
forty two chapter two hundred
and ninety three and especially
of the seventh section thereof the undersigned John T.
Woodside now residing in Howard County Maryland
hereby records among the records of said County the names
and ages of two negro slaves received by his wife Margaret
Woodside during her present coverture that is to say; First
Negro girl Ann Isabella Simms sometimes called Belle
a slave for life who is now nineteen years of age and who
was bequeathed to the said Margaret Woodside by the will of
George M. Eichelberger deceased late of Frederick County
Maryland which will is dated June the sixth Eighteen
hundred and fifty one.  Secondly negro woman
Jane Simms sometimes called Jennie mother of the
above named Ann Isabella; which Jane is now forty two
years of age and is a slave for life and who was
received by said Margaret Woodside in course of distribution
as part of the said Margarets distributive shares of the personal
estate of her father the said George M. Eichelberger deceased
and the undersigned further states that at the time
his said wife Margaret wife received both the said negroes
the undersigned was a resident of said Howard County
and has so remained ever since.  As Witness my hand
this third day of April in the year one thousand eight
hundred and fifty four
