State of maryland    Anne Arundel county sct
On this twenty fifth day of January eighteen hundred and
fifty eight personally appeared William Shipley party grantor
named the aforegoing instrument of writing before me the subscriber
a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in and
for the county aforesaid and made oath on the Holy Evangely
of Almighty God that he has received from Frederick G Harman
the consideration therein expressed to be paid by him
to me              Sworn before

                            Anne Arundel county to wit
I hereby certify that Nelson Phelps Esquire before whom
the within acknowledgment and affidavit appears to have
been made was at the time of so doing one of the state of
maryland Justices of the peace in and for anne arundel
County duly commissioned and sworn
                      In Testimony Whereof I hereto set my name
       (Seals)    and affix the seal of the Circuit Court for
       (Place)    Anne Arundel County this eighth day of
                      April in the year of our Lord one thousand

Know all men by these presents
that I John Nicholson of Howard County
in the state of maryland of the first
part for and in consideration of the
                     Sum of Four Hundred Dollars Lawful money of the United
                     State to me in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery
                     of these presents by Jemimer Nicholson of the County and
                     State aforesaid of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby
                     acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents
                     do grant bargain and convey unto the said party of the
                     Second part her executors administrators and assigns the
                     following property to wit:  one Iron Gray horse one Scubaul
                     horse one red Cow one black Cow Seven head of Hogs
                     one waggon & Harness one Carriage & Harness one set of
                     farming implements two sets of black smith tools five
                     feather beds, one side board, one sofa, one Dozen chairs
                     five bedsteads, four looking glasses one safe, one cupboard
                     one Cooking stove two Clocks and three tables  To Have and to
