Kitty Ann Nelson
 We John Jervis and Sarah W H
Jervis his wife of Howard County
in the State of Maryland do
hereby manumit and set free
our negro slave ^named^ Kitty Ann Nelson now aged Twelve
years and upwards her freedom to commence on the
first day of June in the year eighteen hundred and
sixty nine and not sooner should she have issue during
her servitude such issue shall be free  Witness our
hands and seals this twenty seventh day of April
in the year Eighteen hundred and sixty

    I hereby Certify that on this Twenty Seventh day

to be their respective act and deed

I hereby certify that J G Berry
Farmer of Howard County brought
before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in
and for the said County this twenty eighth day of April
1860 as a Stray found hitched to his fence a bay gelding
about fourteen year old fifteen hands high blazed forehead
three white legs shod before trots and canters
