State of Maryland Caroline County to wit   Whereas application hath been
made to me by a negro man named Isaac Prattis for a
certificate agreeable to an act of assembly of the said state
passed at november session Eighteen hundred and five by which
said act free negroes and molatoes are permitted to travel out
of the said state upon their obtaining a certificate of being
free born   And whereas also upon the oath of Leven Barton
of the County aforesaid that the negro man named
Isaac Prattis to whom this certificate is delivered was free
born I do therefore grant his said application I hereby certify
that the said negro man named Isaac Prattis is five feet
four Inches high or thereabout he is rather of a yellow complexion
was born and raised in the COunty of Caroline has
no particular marks necessary to describe that I have discovered
he says he was twenty two years old the 28th October last
                      In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my
(seal)              hand and affixed the public seal of my office
                      this tenth day of June in the year of our Lord
                      Eighteen hundred and fifteen

to an act of assembly passed at november session Eighteen hundred
and five by which said act free negroes and molatoes are permitted
to travel out of the said state upon their obtention of a certificate
of being free Born and whereas also upon the oath of Elizabeth Murphey
of the County aforesaid that the said woman named Mary Wright
to whom this certificate is delivered was free Born I do therefore grant
her said application and hereby certify that the said negro woman named
Mary Wright is five feet four and three fourths inches high or thereabouts
rather of a dark complexion says she was twenty one years old the second
day of January 1815 she has no very particular marks necessary to describe that
I have discovered   In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
    (Seal)    the public seal of my office this 20th day of July in the year Eighteen hundred
