The Queen having appointed the Convoys for Maryland
to sail from the Buoy of the Nowre the 15th of Septembr next,
The Lords of the Committee of Trade and Plantations have
Ordered me to give you Notice thereof, with their Maties direc-
tions that you do not fail to be ready to repair to your Gov-
ernmt on Board those ships I am

Instructions for our Trusty and Welbeloved Lionel Copley
Esq", Our Captain Generall and Governor in Chief in and
over our Province and Territory of Maryland in America.
And in his Absence to the Governor or Commander in
Chief of our said Province for the time being.
26th August. 1691.
With these our instructions you will receive our Commission
under our Great Seal of England constituting you our Captain
Generall and Governor in Chief in and over our Province and
Territory of Maryland in America, where being arrived you
are forthwith to call together the Members of our Councill for
that our Province and Territory By name, Sir Thomas Law-
rence Knt. and bart. Henry Jowles, Nehemiah Blakiston,
Nicholas Greenbury, Charles Hutchins, Charles Robotham,
David Browne, Thomas Tench, Iohn Addison, Iohn Coates
lames Frizby and Thomas Brooks Eqre. At which meeting
after having published in usuall manner our said commission
constituting you our Captain Generall and Governor in Chief
of our said Province and Territory, you shall take yourself
and also administer unto Each of the members of our said
Councill as well the Oaths appointed by Act of Parliament to
be taken instead of the Oaths of Allegiance and supremacy
