Province, and answerable for the defaults and Misdemeano^rs
of his Deputies in the Execution of their Offices under him
their Hono^rs would for his greater Ease and security constitute
an Examiner Gen" (as formerly his L^sp had done) to Examine
and approove all Certificates of Survey or Resurveys made by

any of his s^d Deputies before such time as they be Received
into the Office to be recorded, and further proposes Majo^r
Thomas Taylor of Dorchester County as a person very fitt
and capable to manage the said Office

The board is of opinion that (M^r Clement Hill late Examin^r
Gen^ll being by his L^sps favour advanced to a place of greate
hon^r and the Survey^r Gen^ll haveing of his owne choice repre-
sented Maj^r Taylor as a person fitt and capable to succeed in
the said Office) the said choice may stand, and as a testimony
of their approbation doe appoint Maj^r Thomas Taylor Examiner
and Deputy Survey^r Gen^ll of this Province if upon Examina-
tion he shall be found capable and will give his attendance at
his Office, and doe give bond with Security accordingly

Octob: 1686:

A Proclamation
Maryland ss:
Whereas by Proclamation beareing date the third day of
October last past it was therein and thereby published, and
declared that a generall Assembly of this Province should be
called and conveened to sitt at the City of S^t Maries on the
last Tuesday in this instant March, which said last Tuesday in
March being now neere at hand, and noe urgent occasions or
affaires relateing to the State and wellfare of this Province
now offering w^ch might require the conveeneing and sitting of
the said Assembly on the said last Tuesday in March instant,
Wee have thought fitt, and doe hereby fully resolve determine
and ordeine that the said Generall Assembly be prorogued
untill the last Tuesday in October next ensueing the date

hereof, Hereby willing and requireing all and singular the
sheriffes of this Province to make publick. Proclamation hereof
in the most publick and convenient places within their severall
and respective Counties; And to give notice to all and singular
the Delegates and Dep^ties by the ffreemen of their County
thereunto elected and chosen, that (all excuses sett apart) they
