An Act for Securing Severall persons Rights to Town Lands
Read Second time and passed without Alteration.
The Petition of Philip Lynes and Severall other persons
preferred to the house of Burgesses, therein praying that the
house would be pleased to Recommend their Condition unto
his Ex^ncy touching their Engagem^ts passed unto his Ma^ty for
Severall Masters of Ships for their due Complyance with the
Acts of Trade and Navigation their bonds being now prose-
cuted at Law; the s^d Petition came thus indorsed, viz^t

By the house of Burgesses October the 14^th 1695.

Vpon reading the within petition the house do concurr &
desire his Ex^ncy will be pleased to give directions that Some
Stop be put to the proceedings ag^t the Peticon^rs until Such
time as advice may arrive from England, And that the Sherriffs
exact no other Bayle for their appearance more than their own
Bonds.

By his Ex^ncy the Govern^r &^ca
October the 19^th 1695.

As to giving further time his Ex^ncy has given directions to the
Atf Gen^ll to grant longer time but withall does advize that the
severall persons Concern'd Send by the first Ships that go;
and as for the the Sheriffs taking no other Bayle then the
parties own appearance, his Ex^ncy doth not think fit to make
any Ord^r therein whereby as the Case may happen, it may be
an Order ag^t Law.

The Severall bills here Yesterday Read and Assented to
were Sent back to the house of Burgesses by the hon^rble Coll
Hutchins Coll Brown and M^r ffrisby.
They return and say they delivered the Same accordingly
& bring from the house the following papers, viz^t

By the house of Burgesses October the 19^th 1695.
Resolved this house will not write any Answer to the
Govern^r of New Yorks Letter nor send any one of the house
thither, but th' his Ex^ncy be pleased to send M^r Perry the post
to New York.
