A Supplementary Bill to the Act for imposing a duty upon
officers read the first tyme.
The afd Bill read the [second & third] tyme and sent up to
his Majestyes honourable Councill.

It being proposed they send some further supply
towards the [assistance of his Matys] Governmt of New Yorke
pursuant to the Govr [of New Yorkes] Letter now lying
before the house for their consideration [his Excy being]
willing to lend the country money upon that occasion if
wanting.
The house humbly thanke his Excy for his generous offer ;
But considering how much they are already engaged to his
Excy for money already by him advanced upon that accompt,
and how uncapable they are at present to reimburse him, and
conceiving themselves to have Sufficiently advanced towards
the assistance of New Yorke, especially having paid that Gov-
ernmt 120l odd pounds more then what his sacred Maty hath been
graciously pleased to declare should be in leiw of the Quota
from this Province, do not thinke themselves obliged anyways
to contribute thereto, untill his Matys royall pleasure shall be
further declared therein. Which this Province with all obedi-
ence will wayte for.
House adjourned till 6 of the Clock on Munday Morning.

Munday July the 6th 1696.

House met. Then was read over what was done on Satur-
day last.
Mr Clarke and Col: Codd sent up to the Councill with the
Bill for the Service of Almighty God and Establishmt of the
Protestant Religion within this Province.
A Bill for Free Schools, and A Bill for reviving the tempo-
rary Lawes of this province, read three tymes by Spiall order
and sent up to his Matys honbLe Councill with Severall Lres and
addresses by Mr James Crauford
The House adjourned till two of the Clock.

Post Merediem. House met.
The honbLe Colonel David Browne, and James Frisby Esqr
came down to the house from His Matys honbLe Councill and
brought the following Bills Vizt
