Mr Gerrard Slyes petition for Publick allowance being read
was referred to the House of Burgesses by Order for their
Consideration the said petition and foregoing message &c
where sent by the honble Colo Greenberry and Colo Hutchins
Came from the House of Burgesses Major Dorsey Mr
Hutchinson & Mr Blay who signify that they were sent from
the House to acquaint his Excellency that they were appointed
a Committee to Inspect what Tobacco is Collected towards
building a Church at Annapolis &c and for to make some
report thereof and do desire that his Excellency would be
pleased to appoint two of his Majestys honourable Council for
to joyn with them therein
Ordered that the honble Sir Thomas Lawrence Baronet
Secretary and Esqr Brooks be added to the same who accord-
ingly went and took several Papers delivered to them by his
Excellency relating thereto
