Satturday Septr the 26th 1696.

House met. A Bill for securing the Parochiall librarys of
this Province read the second tyme.
A Bill for keeping good Rules and orders in the Porte of
Annapolis, read the second tyme.
House adjourned for an hour.

Post Merediem. House met.

The petition of Mr Gerrard Vanswearingen and Mr James
Patterson Trustees of the Estate of Marke Cordea decd read.
And Mr Robt Carvile being admitted into the house and heard
to the said petition,
Ordered, that the Bill for the relief of the Credts and
Legatees of Marke Cordea deceased be layed before the
house.
A Bill for annexing Wye and Miles River, Kent Island
and severall creeks to the porte of William Stadt read and
passed.
The House adjourned till Munday morning at 9 of a
Clocke

Munday Septr 28th 1696.

The house met and Resolved upon his Excy Proposall, that
a law be drawn the Comissarys office to the
clergy of this Province.

A Bill relateing to Bayle to be taken by the Sherriffs in
Actions of tresspass upon the case, read the first tyme &
comitted.
A Bill for security of the Parochiall librarys of this Prov-
ince, read the third tyme and passed.
A Bill for reliefe of the Credrs and Legatees of Marke
Cordea, read the first tyme and passed nemine contradi-
cente.

The two last Bills with the Bill for Speedy Justice and the
Reviving Bill sent to his Matys HonbLe Councill by Mr Bosman
and Mr Ferry.
Major Edwd Dorsey presents the following reporte from
the Comittee appointed to inspect into the proposalls about
building the Church and free schole, Viz:

By the Comittee Reported that there is in Banck for build-
ing the Church at Annapolis 458l sterl: We have discoursed
Workemen and the Carpenter demands for his work 250l The
