therein did direct which said Assessment of fforty Pounds of
tobbo p Pole shall Allways be paid and Allowed to the Min-
isters of Each respective Parrish haveing noe other Benefice
to Officiate in Prsented inducted appointed by his Excy the
Govr of this Province or other pson thereunto legally Author-
ized in manner hereafter Expressed and Ordained And every
Such Minister is hereby required and Enjoyned to Appointe
and Constantly to keep a Clerk of such parrish Church and
to pay and Sattisfye such clerke the sume of One thousd
Pounds of tobbo Yearely and Every Yeare out of the said
fforty Per Pole and to Prevent all Illegall and unlawfall mar-
riages not alloweable by the Church of England but forbidden
by the Table of Marriages Be it Enacted by the Authority
afd That noe Minister Preist or Magistrate shall Prsume to
Joyne togeather in Marriage any Prsons wtsoever contrary to
the Table of marriages by this Act Appointed to be sett up
in every Parrish Church within this Province nor shall any
psons forbidden to marry togeather by such Tables of Marri-

ages Prsume to be joyned in marriage under the Penaltys fol-
lowing (That is to say) under the Penalty of ffive Thousand
Pounds of tobbo upon the Minister Preist or Magistrate
Joyneing Such psons in Marriage And under the like Penalty
of Five thousand Pounds of tobbo upon the psons soe Joyned
in Marriage to our Sovereigne Ld the King for the uses in
this Act hereafter mentioned and to prevent any Lay Persons
from Joyning any psons in Marriage where A Minister or
Preist cann be had and to Acertaine what shalbe paid fur
marriage
Be it likewise Enacted by the Authority afd That in every
Parrish where any Minister or incumbent shall reside or have
charge of Soules therein noe Justice or Magistrate Shall Joyne
any psons in Marriage under the Penalty of ffive Thousand
Pounds of tobbo for such Offence to Our Sovereigne Lord the
King as Aforesaid And that it Shalbe lawfull for every minis-
ter to take receive of every pson or Persons by him married
the Sume of Five Shillings Sterling and noe more any Law
to the Contrary notwithstanding Provided such psons come
to such Parrish Church or Chappell at time of Divine Service
for contracting such marriage And for the better and more
Effectually collecting the said Duty of Forty Pounds of tobbo
p Pole and paying the same to the uses by this Law intended
and appointed As Alsoe for incorporateing A Polliticall Body
Capeable in Law to recover and receive all rights and pqui-
sites Accrueing or growing due in Law or conscience to any
Parrish Church or Churches for any Pious use or uses what-
soever
Be it Enacted that the Sherriff of Each Severall County
