       they might be Admitted to Sayle with her Majesrys Shlpp Lib. C. B.

       Strumbulo, Nothwithstanding the former Resolution taken by

       this Government, and the rather, for that they are Informed

       that the Severall Shipps now ready to Sayle in Virginia will be

       Suffered to go with that convoy.

         It is Advised and Resolved that if the said Masters will

       send an Intilligible person to Virginia to bring an Authentick

       Copy of the Resolutions there taken by the Governour and

       Councill, as to the Sayling of the Shipping there, And that

       they are permitted to Sayle with the Strumbulo they being

       farr more in number than those in this Province, This Board

       will Concurr therewith & do Order the Shipps in this Prov

       ince to be Imediatly Cleared to Sayle with the Said Convoy.

         And Ordered that in the mean time the Severall Masters of

       Shipps now in this Province make their Reports forthwith of

       their Ladings to the Severall Navall Officers and Collectors

       who are hereby Required Speedily to prepare and gett ready p. 10

       their Severall Clearances; but not to deliver them to them

       untill they have an Account that the present Shipping in Vir

       ginia will be Suffered to Sayle with her Majestys Ship Strum

       bulo.

                       August 23d 1704.

          Present His Excellency John Seymour Esqr her

                  Majestys Governour in Chiefe

         The honrble Thomas Tench Esq Coll John Addison Robert

       Smith Esqr Coll John Hamond Coll Edward Lloyd Lt Coll

       William Holland James Sanders Esqr and William Coursey

       Esqr of her Majestys honrble Councill.

         Present also Lt Coll William Dent her Majestys Attry

       Generall.

         Came Coll John Addison of her Majestys honrble Councill

       Who tooke the Oaths of Allegiance and the Oath of Abjura

       tion Likewise Came Mr Henry Hall and Mr Joseph Holt

       Clergymen who tooke the said Oaths having heretofore scru

       pled to take them. His Excellency Tells the Councill that he

       Hopes they are not uneaseye, that he has called them together

       at this time to advise with them before the Sitting downe of

       the Approaching Assembly And Acquainted the Board with a

       Lre to him from an Eminent Merchant intimating Some En

       deavours sett on foot to bring this Province wth others on the

       Contint: under the Governmt of New Yorke And desired

       they would consider thereof and give their Sentiments thereon.
