     Courts proceedings but resented at Home as a neglect & Lib. C. B.

     Disrespect to her Most Sacred Matye

      On Consideration whereof His Exncy & the Board are of

     Opinion that the said Comcons ought to runn in the present

     Stile of her Matye as Queen of Great Brittain &c And there

     fore It was ordered the said Comissions be altered & run in

     the said Stile.

      It falling under the Consideration of his and this

     Board whether the late Seate of Governmt called the City of P. 136

     St Marys to send two Citizens to the Assembly not

     having a Mayor Recorder & men to choose the said

     Citizens, It is the opinion of this Board that for want of such

     persons no Citizens can be legally returned thence to serve in

     the Genll Assembly, however Resolved a Writt be sent

     directed to such persons.

      Then It was proposed whether It may not be proper to

     erect this Town and port of Annapolis into a City with the

     Priviledge of sending two Citizens to the Genll Assembly,

     And some other small priviledges such as shall be agreed

     on by his Exncy & this Board To which the Board do say

     that it will be very proper this being the Seate of Govern

     ment & a growing place as having the most Buildings &

     people Inhabiting therein.

      The Councill then brake up.

      Here follow sevrall of her Mamys Royall Lres apointing

     severall Gentn of this province of her Councill here the said

       Trusty and Welbeloved, Wee Greet you Well. Whereas

     it has been represented unto us By our Commissioners for

     Trade and Plantations, That Thomas Droock one of the

     Members of our Councill of that our Province of Maryland

     does never attend our Service at that Board, have thought p. 137

     fitt that the said Thomas Brook be forthwith dismist from

     his Place in our said Councill and our will [and] Pleasure is

     that forthwith upon Receipt hereof you Dismiss [him] from our

     said Councill accordingly; and that you swear and admit

     Our Trusty and Wellbeloved Seth Biggs (of whose Loyalty;

     Integrity and ability wee are well Informed) to be one of our

     said Council in his room and place, and for so Doing this

     shall be your Warrant, and so Wee Bid you Farewell. Given

     at our Court at Kensington the Three and Twentieth Day of

     February 1707/8 In the sixth year of Our Reigne.
