And to the end that the said Nine pence per Gallon may be
exactly paid and Collected
Be it enacted by the Authority Advice and Consent afore-
said that before the said Liquors shall be Waterborn in
Cheasopeak Bay the Importer or Importers shall make Entry
thereof upon oath with the Navall Officer of Cecill County
District of the Number of Casqs and the Contents thereof
which oath the said Navall Officer by vertue of this Act shall
have Authority to Administer and of the full Contents the
Navall Officer may abate twenty per Cent for Leakage & other
Damage to be sustain'd.
And be it further Enacted by the Authority Advice and
Consent aforesaid that if the Importer or Importers aforesaid
after he hath brought the said Liquors to Bohemia Landing
aforesaid shall put the same Liquors on board any Vessell in

Cheasopeak Bay or any the Rivers Creeks or Harbours thereto
belonging before the duty aforesaid shall be paid in ready
mony as aforesaid That then the Importer or Importers shall
forfeit the said Liquors or value thereof in ready mony to the
uses aforesaid to be recovered as aforesaid
And be it further Enacted by the Authority aforesaid that
when the Importer and importers aforesaid have made fair
Entry as aforesd and paid the duty as aforesaid in ready mony
as aforesaid that then the Navall Officer shall give the said
Importer a Permitt to carry the same to any River Creek or
Harbour or Port or place of this Province to make Sale of the
same.
Provided always that if any Person or Persons shall import
any the Liquors aforesaid from Pensilvania aforesaid in Sloops
or other Vessells by Sea through the Capes of Cheasopeak
into this Province that then such importer or Importer shall
only pay the Duty of three pence p Gallon as others do And
after the same Manner as is mencond in a Certain Act of
Assembly of this Province Intituled An Act imposing three
pence per Gallon on Rum and Wine and twenty Shillings per
poll for Negroes for raising a Supply to defray the publiq
Charge of this Province and twenty Shillings per poll for Irish
Servants to prevent the Importing too great a Number of
Irish papists into this Province.
And be it further Enacted by the Authority Advice and
Consent aforesaid That the Navall Officer aforesaid for the
said Duty of nine pence per gallon aforesaid shall account to
the Publiq Treasurer of the Eastern Shore and the Publick
Treasurer of the Eastern Shore Shall Account to the Generall
Assembly of this Province in manner and form as is mencond
in the aforesaid Act Intituled An Act imposing three pence
per gallon on Rum and Wine and twenty Shillings per poll
