His Excy was pleased to lay before the Board the following
Letter of Col Ninian Beale viz.

Sepr 9th 1704
May it please your Excy

I think it my Duty to render your Excy an Account of the
late murder that has been Committed by the Heathen in Vir-
ginia at Potowmack Creek the last of October murdered one
man two women one Child and on Thursday last there came
one Indian from the mountains to the Eastern branch there
being a great many Indians hunting in those places and hal-
lowed over the Eastern branch to some other Indians at
Andrew Hamiltons they having a Cabbin there and the
Indian went over to see what he hollowed for and stayed a
matter of half an hour and returned and Told the said Ham-
bleton that they must all go to the mountains to morrow.
Which they are all in general gone. May it please your Excy
Ammunition is very scarce in these Parts. No more but
your Excellency's humble Servant to Command whilst

Sepr 9th 1704 I am Ninian Beale

The last day of October mentioned in the sd Letter is sup-
posed to be a mistake and should be the last day of August.

Advised that his Excy the Governour will write to Col Beale
to desire his utmost Care and Diligence to prevent any mis-
chief or disturbance in these parts and if any should happen
to give his Excy and Col Addison the Speediest notice and
that if any Arms or Ammunition are wanting there upon Inti-
mation Care will be taken to send what is requisite and that
he apply to Col Addison for any Ammunition.

The honble Col Thomas Ennalls presented to his Excy and
the Council the complaint of Mr Henry Coursey a Nanticoke
Indian against Mr Peter Taylor of Dorchester County that
being indebted to the said Peter Taylor four bushells of Indian
Corn two buckskins and one Doe Skin in all of the Value of
