478 Assembly Proceedings, May 15-25, 1705.

Lib. 41.

Ordered That the Clerk of this House inspect the Journal
of the last Sessions of Assembly and draw therefrom all
Referrences to this Session & produce to the next for Con-
sideration
The House adjourns till 7 O'clock to Morrow Morning.

Friday May 18th 1705

The House again met and being called over were present
as yesterday
A Member of this House informed Mr Speaker that Mr
Henry Coursey a Member for Talbot County is now under
great Affliction with the Gout whereby he is incapable of
attending the House therefore desires to be excused which is
granted & allowed by the House.
The Committee of Election & Privileges ordered to go out
upon their Committee and was delivered them an Indenture
to enquire into the Election of John Contee Esqr a Member
chosen for Charles County to serve in Stead of Colo William
Dent deceased.
Mr Elias King Mr James Philips and Mr Joseph Hill ap-
pointed a Committee for stating & examining the publick
Accounts of this Province Ordered to withdraw & repair to
the Committee.
The Committee of Election & Privileges enter the House
& report that the said John Contee is duly elected a Member
for Charles County.

And ordered Mr Hugh Eccleston & Mr Thomas Frisby
attend him to the Council to see him Sworn. They return &
Say they have seen him qualified.
Colo Edward Lloyd & Colo William Holland from the
Honble Council enters the House and delivers Mr Speaker
some Letters & Depositions relating to the Indians Affairs
which are ordered to be read and being read the Matters
therein contained are referred for further Consideration
Ordered his Excellency's Speech be again read ; which
being read.
Ordered Mr Robert Goldsborough Mr Charles Greenberry
and Mr Samuel Young prepare an Answer thereto & forth-
with lay it before the House for their Consideration.
The Petition of George Symonds & Elizabeth his Wife
praying Leave to bring in a Rill tn ronfirm the Will of Thomas
Knighton deceased being read Ordered Summons issue to
Mr Christopher Vernon as prayed & Leave is given the Petr
to bring in a Bill the next Sessions of Assembly.
Thomas Tench & John Hammond Esqrs from the Honble
Council enter the House and delivers Mr Speaker a Message
