Att a Session of Assembly held at the Towne and Porte
of Annapolis in Anne Arundell County the 2d Day of Aprill
in the 5th yeare of her Matys Raigne &c

His Exllcy John Seymour Esqr Capt Genll and Governour in
Chiefe in and over this her Matys Province &c.

Thomas Brooke Esqr Col Francis Jenkins

Robert Smith Esqr Col Edwd Lloyd
The honble Col Jno Hamond James Sanders Esqr

& Col Thomas Ennalls of her Matys Councill.

Came Mr Joseph Hill & Mr James Hays from the House of
Delegates and acquainte his Exncy that theire House was mett
according to her Matys Prorogation
His Exncy Says He will Send for them and acquainte them
with what he has to lay before them
Then his Exncy advised with the Boarde of what he pro-
posed to say to the Genll Assembly at the opening of this
Sessions, and the same being reduced into writing and read
was approved of by the whole Boarde
After which Colonel Haffiond was ordered to go downe to
the House and Comand the Speaker and the Members


to attend his Exncy in Council Mr Speaker and the Members
of the House of Delegates being come up, and admitted into
the Councill Roome His Exncy was pleased thus to bespeake
them.

Mr Speaker & You Gentn Delegates.
Since our Meeting now, is by her Matys especiall Comand, I
doubt not hut the greate good things So earnestly recomended
to your Serious Consideration for the good and Wellfare of
this Province will be unanimously approved of and assented
to by You it's Reprsentatives ; That what her Sacred Matye
has so wisely & graciously concerted for your future happi-
ness & grandeur may enrich You and Succeeding Generations.

had a more tender reguard for all her Subjects than her pres-
ent Matye and though She has been engaged in a great
