there be any thing your Honours think unreasonable Please to
remark it that it may be Considered we do not pretend to
meddle with allowances for Country Arms cleaning as you
are pleased to suppose therefore it shall be Expunged
We Expected kinder usage but shall content ourselves at
present without any other Remarks.

other members of the House as follows.

October the 3d 1704.
Upon reading your last Message we find we are mistaken
by the House as to the Sealing the Laws and Duplicates a
Dispute we never Expected to have been revived this Ses-
sions as it seems to be by your Message with your Journal of
the Committee of Accounts therefore must observe to you that
either your Allowance on the said Journal are Just and fitting
to be made by this Assembly or otherwise we believe neither
your House or this Board would agree thereto and if it be
but in order to the payment of what is due from the publick
Wherefore was your Message requiring his Excellency's Con-
fession to future Retrenchments Contrary to his Majestys In-
structions for sending Sealed Duplicates of the Copy of the
Laws tacked like a Petitionary Bill nay a doubted Right you
have to the free use of her Majesties Great Seale to these
Duplicates or at least to be dispensed with in not complying
with that Injunction to Confirm which you have only your own
opinions we never designed or have Endeavoured but to have
cultivated a good understanding with your House and pro-
mote the Interest of our Country by readily agreeing to what
was fitting for us and therefore have avoided taking Notice of
several Messages from you Especially that of the 30th of
September Mr Coursey and six other members wherein you
seem either to question our understanding or Integrity
The Allowances to this Board is but one Quarter in respect
to those to the Members of your House the mony raised by
Impost was always Intended by this Board to be disposed of
for defraying the publick Charge of the Country and we know
not how it could be better Employed and when we have as-
sured you we do not regard our own Advantage in what is
allowed to us we may be allowed to tell you without any ill
usage that we wonder when you are sensible of the publick
