ACTS OF ASSEMBLY.

The text of the Acts listed below, which are printed in this volume, is taken
from Bacon's Laws of Maryland at Large, published in 1765. The titles of all
the Acts passed at each session will be found in the Journals among the proceed-
ings of the last day, except that, at the session of 1723, five Acts (including the
revenue measures) were signed on September 28, the sixth day of the session
(pp. 503, 615).

SESSION OF 1720.

Restraining Rigour of Prosecution on Administration Bonds, 115.
Declaring Punishment for Burning of Courthouses, 116.

SESSION OF 1721.

For Stay of Executions after the Tenth Day of May, yearly, 267.

Relieving Inhabitants of the Province and Others removing their Families thither

to settle, from the Payment of Duty on Negroes for any Domestic Slaves, 268.
Limiting the Continuance of Actions in Court, ascertaining the Manner of taking

the Evidence of Seafaring Men and granting Appeals from the Chancery

SESSION OF 1722.

Confirming Lands devised for the Use of the Church, 473.

Regulating Prosecutions in Criminal Cases, 474.

For the Speedier Advancement of Justice in relation to the Assessing of Damages,

For the Advancement of Justice in Testamentary Affairs, 476.

To prevent the Tumultuous Meetings, and other Irregularities of Negroes and

To punish Blasphemers, Swearers, Drunkards and Sabbath-Breakers, 733.
Directing the Manner of Recovering of Fines for not appearing at the Clearing of

the Highways, 737.

Quieting the Possessions of the Indians on Nanticoke and Choptank Rivers, 738.
