Post Meridiem

The House met according to adjournment
Ordered, That the Committee of Accounts Receive no Claim
against the publick, after next Saturday sevennight
On Motion of a Member, that a Bill be brought in, for the Regu-
lation of the Staple Tobacco; Leave given. Ordered, That the Com-
mittee of Laws, prepare and bring in a Bill accordingly.
A Petition of Charles Carroll Esqr praying Leave to bring in a
Bill to make Valid a Deed of Bargain and Sale, between Michael
Curtis, and Sarah his wife, of Saint Marys County Deceased, to
Charles Carroll Esqr Deceased, the petitioners ffather, was read, and
leave given to bring in a Bill according to prayer
The Governor communicated to Mr Speaker the following Answer
viz.
Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly
I am very much obliged to you for your kind Address, and shall
be glad of Every Opportunity of giving you the Clearest oppor-
tunity of the sincerity of my Inclinations, to promote the happiness
and prosperity of the province Sam: Ogle
On Consideration of the Report from the Committee of Aggriev-
ances relating to Mr James Richard, the House Concurs therewith ;
and Resolved, That an Address be prepared to his Excellency, on
the Subject matter of the said Report.
Ordered, That the Committee of Laws, prepare and bring in an
Address accordingly.
Major Sheredine, Col John Henry, Mr John Stoddert, Mr Ed-
ward Tilghman, and Major Abraham Barnes, are appointed a Com-
mittee of this House, to inspect the Office and proceedings of the
Commissioners or Trustees, for emitting Bills of Credit, established
by Act of Assembly.
Richard Lee Esqr from the Upper House, delivers to Mr Speaker
Sundry petitions from the Inhabitants of St. Mary's Charles, Prince
George's and Anne Arundel Counties, relating to the Staple of To-
bacco; indorsed " By the upper House, referred to the Considera-
tion of the Lower House."
