sired immediately to inform the Special Council what quantity of
Wheat and Flour you have on hand and the different places in which
they are stored with the quantity in each place The Wheat which is
stored in Mills within your district you are requested to have ground
up and prepared for transportation with ail possible dispatch.

to Peter Chaille, Esq., commisary, Worcester Co.]

Colonel Blaine having informed us that he intends to Slaughter
the Cattle in the Counties on this. Shore for the better transportation
of them to the Army has requested of us every aid in our power to
forward that Business. We therefore desire that you will imme-
diately on notice from him have the Cattle under your Care drove as
it may be convenient to such place or places as he shall direct, and
that you immediately cause to be Slaughtered and salted up such
number as he may direct, and lade them on board Vessels which he
will provide for that purpose and that nothing may impede the most
speedy supplies to the Army, we have inclosed you a power to im-
press Boats and hands, horses Carriages and Drivers, which however
you will be careful not to make use of but from necessity, and you
will be careful not to drive in for Slaughter any Cattle but are fit
for immediate use, and such as are not fit you will endeavour to get
into such Pastures or grazing Grounds as will speedily make them
fit for the Knife, and you also will observe such Directions for salt-
ing up as you will receive from Colonel Blaine

We the Subscribers being Sheriffs, Grand and Petit Jurors now
attending this Court and find it impossible to continue for want of
hard Cash, insomuch, that we have applyed to sundry Inhabitants
of this Town, who keeps entertainment, and who refuses to take any
money except Gold or Silver or to give any time for payment and
as we have no other except Red money, we hope your Honours will
take our case into consideration and take such Steps as you shall
think most necessary on the occation, which will be thankfully Ac-
knowledged by your Honours most obt lib'e Servle.
