And Whereas there is now remaining in the Hands of the Agents
for carrying into Execution the said recited Act and another Act of
Assembly entituled an act for granting a Supply of Forty thousand
Pounds for his Majestys Service and Striking thirty four thousand
fifteen Pounds six shillings thereof in Bills of Credit and raising a
fund for sinking the same, a small Ballance unapplied; Be it enacted
by the Authority advice and Consent aforesaid that the said Agents
shall and may and are hereby directed to pay into the Hands of the
said Commissioners or Trustees all such sum or sums of Money as
they have received in Virtue of the said recited Acts and is or are
now in their Hands unapplied which said Ballance is hereby Appro-
priated to the Payment for Indian Prisoners and Scalps in manner
aforesaid.

An Act for Prohibiting all Trade with the Indians for the Time
therein mentioned



Whereas, it is represented to this General Assembly by a Letter
from Sir Jeffry Amherst to his Excellency the Governor and by
him Communicated to this Present General Assembly that the carry-
ing on a Trade or commerce with our Indian Enemies is of the most
Dangerous and Pernicious Consequence and tends to Protract the
Hostilities and incursions of those Barbarians

For Remedy thereof be it Enacted by the Right Honourable the
Lord Proprietary by and with the Advice and Consent of his Lord-
ships Governor and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly
and the Authority of the same That from and after the first day of
November next it shall not be lawfull for any Person or Persons

Whatsoever to trade or Traffick With any enemy Indian or Indians
for any Goods, Wares, Commodities, or Merchandizes, whatsoever
or to carry or Transport any Goods, Wares, Commodities, or Mer-
chandizes, with intent to Trade or Traffick with any such Indian or
Indians under the Penalty of five hundred Pounds Current Money
for every Offence to him or them, who will sue for the same to be
recovered in any Court of Record within this Province by Action of
Debt, Bill, Plaint, or Information wherein no Essoin Protection or
Wager of Law shall be Allowed, And if any Person or Persons
