it being a matter of Importance and such as we do not think our-
selves at Liberty to Advise in without the Instructions of our Con-
stituents which we cannot now Obtain we hope your Excellency will
think us excusable for declineing to offer you any Advise upon the
Occasion

We return your Excellency Thanks for your promise of a Short
Recess at this time agreeable to our request

Was Read and Assented to and Signed by Order of the House by
the Honourable Speaker
Ordered that M.r Sullivane and M.r Hanson do Acquaint the
Governor that this House hath prepared an Address to be presented
to him and desires to know when and where he will please to receive
it they return and Acquaint M.r Speaker that the Governor Signified
he would be ready to receive the Address immediately in the Con-
ference Chamber
Ordered that M:r Sullivane with three more to Present the Address
Ordered that M.r J: Goldsborough and M:r Dent do Acquaint his
Excellency that no Publick Business lays before this House to
Transact
Samuel Chamberlayne Esq:r and Col:o Lloyd from the Upper
House Acquaint M:r Speaker that the Governor requires the At-
tendance of the Members of the Lower House immediately in the
Upper House
M.r Speaker left the Chair and with the Members of the Lower
House went to the upper House and presented to his Excellency An
Ingrossed Bill Entituled an Act to continue all such Acts of As-
sembly of this Province as would expire with this Session of As-
sembly
Which the Governor passed into a Law in the usual manner and
made the following Speech Viz:t
Gentlemen of the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly

I have thought fit with the Advice of his Lordships Council of
State to Prorogue this Assembly to Thursday the 31:st day ot
October next. You are therefore to take Notice that you are pro-
rogued to that day Accordingly

So endeth this Session of Assembly this 28:th day of September
in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty five
