FREDERICK ABSOLUTE LORD AND PROPRIETOR OF
THE PROVINCES OF MARYLAND AND AVALON IN
AMERICA LORD BARON OF BALTIMORE IN THE KING-
DOM OF IRELAND

Orders and Instructions to be observed and pursued by Our Trusty
and beloved Horatio Sharpe Esq.r Our Lieutenant General and
Chief Governor of our Province of Maryland.
F Baltimore
Whereas at a Session of Assembly began and held at our City of
Annapolis, in Maryland on Wednesday the seventeenth Day of
March, in the Eleventh Year of my Dominion in the Province of
Maryland the following Acts of Assembly on my behalf were passed
by you viz in 1762

listed]

And whereas at a Session of Assembly began and held at our City
of Annapolis in Maryland the fourth day of October in the thirteenth
Year of our Dominion in the Province of Maryland the following
Acts of Assembly in my behalf were passed by You viz in 1763
[The 33 acts passed at the October-November, 1763, session are
here listed}

On consideration upon the aforesaid several Acts I do hereby
signify to you my assent and will that each of the said Acts of our
Assembly be Laws of the Province of Maryland and you are to
enter this my assent upon Record as usual.

Given under my Hand and Lesser Seal at Arms at London this
Sixteenth Day of January in the Thirteenth Year of my Dominion
of the said Province and in the Year of our Lord 1765.

DATED JANUARY 16, 1765, TO GOVERNOR HORATIO SHARPE
APPOINTING JAMES HOLLYDAY ESQ. TO THE VACANCY IN
THE COUNCIL [AND IN THE UPPER HOUSE] CAUSED BY

THE DEATH OF PHILIP KEY. IT SHOULD BE ADDED THAT

HOLLYDAY REFUSED THIS APPOINTMENT AND REMAINED
IN THE LOWER HOUSE.]
