him for the Maintenance of Thomas Walley per Account passed by
the Deputy Auditor.

That the said Treasurer pay to Isaac Freeman Thirteen pounds,
sixteen shillings and three pence Specie agreeably to the "Act to
adjust the Debts due from this State" per Certificate adjusted by the
Deputy Auditor due the 1st. September 1787.

The Court adjourned 'till Monday morning.

[p 33] Monday 9th. February 1789

The Council met.

Present his Excellency John Eager Howard Esquire.
The Honorable John Davidson

Josias Carvel Hall

John Kilty Esquires.

Commissions issued to Samuel Chew, Walter Smith, Daniel Rawl-
ings, Samuel Lane, Joseph Wilkenson, Levin Mackall, John Chesley,
William Reynolds, Frisby Freeland, Gideon Ireland, and Thomas
Harwood 3d. appointed Justices of the County Court of Calvert
County and

Samuel Chew, Walter Smith, Joseph Wilkenson, Levin Mackall
and Thomas Harwood 3d. appointed Justices of the Orphans Court of
said County.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Josias Carvel
Hall Esqr. thirty seven pounds, ten shillings for One quarter's Salary
as a Member of the Council.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Tuesday 10th. February 1789

The Council met.

Present his Excellency John Eager Howard Esquire.
The Honorable James Brice

John Davidson

Josias Carvel Hall

John Kilty Esquires.

Agreeably to a Resolution of the General Assembly passed at their
last Session, the Board do hereby appoint Charles Wallace, Thomas
Hyde and John Randall Esquires of the City of Annapolis, to make a
valuation upon Oath of all the property of the late Sir Robert Eden
which has been retained by the State for the use of the Governor for
the time being, according to the probable worth thereof at the time
of the Original Retainer and such valuation under their hands and
Seals to return to, and file with the Treasurer of the Western Shore.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.
