CHAPTER 52.

AN ACT, to refund a sum of money erroneously
paid into the State Treasury by William D.
Bowie, Jr., in the year eighteen hundred and
sixty-six, on account of storage of Tobacco.

Passed Feb.
28, 1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the
warrant of the Comptroller, be and be is hereby
authorized and directed, to pay to William D.
Bowie, Jr., the sum of fourteen hundred and nine-
teen dollars and seventy cents, erroneously paid
by him to the State Tobacco Inspectors, and paid
over to the State Treasurer on account of storage
of Tobacco, said refunding being recommended by
so subscribed for, shall, within ninety days after
the officers of the Treasury.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the elate of its passage.

CHAPTER 53.

AN ACT to incorporate the town of Church creel
in Dorchester county.

: Passed Feb.
21, 1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the citizens of the town of
Church Creek in Dorchester county, shall be and
they are hereby constituted and made a body cor-
porate, by the name of the Commissioners of
Church Coeek, with all the privileges of a body
corporate, and to have a common seal and perpet-
ual succession.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the free male
white citizens of Church Creek aforesaid, of the
age of twenty-one years and upwards, being citi-
zens of the United States, who have resided in the
