thereto, be and the same are hereby extended to
embrace all volunteers and drafted "men who en-
tered the United States service from the first day
of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, to the
eighteenth day of December, eighteen hundred
and sixty-four, and also such other persons who
entered the service or furnished substitutes, who
were mustered into the service of the United States,
and credited to the call of the President of the
nineteenth of December, eighteen hundred and |

sixty-four; provided, said volunteers and drafted
men have been regularly mustered by a duly au-
thorized officer of the United States, and. accredit-
ed to the quotas of the State of Maryland. |

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage. |

AN ACT entitled an Act to repeal an act enti-
tled "An act to add a new section to article four
of the Code of Public Local Laws, authorizing
the Judge of the Superior Court to employ
a Stenographer passed on the seventeenth of
March, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, chap-
ter two hundred and eighty, to re-enact the same
with amendments, and to insert additional pro-
visions for the appointment of Stenographers
for the Court of Common Pleas and the Orphan's
Court of the City of Baltimore." |

bly of Maryland, That the act passed March sev-
enth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, chapter
two hundred and eighty, entitled "An act to add
a new section to article four of the Code of Public
