same power in his district as is by the laws of tliis state given
to collectors in their respective counties, and shall be entitled
to a commission, not exceeding eight per cent, or less than six
per cent, at the discretion of the said justices of the levy court,
on the amount of the collection put into his hands, and shall
proceed to complete and settle his collection in the same man-
ner, and within the same time, and under like penalties, with
the collectors of the several counties.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall continue and
be in force for the term of three years, and to the end of the
next session of assembly which shall happen thereafter.

A SUPPLEMENT to nn ACT, entitled, an Act to alter the mode of Collect-
ing the Counly Tax in Harford County. — 1806, ch. 18.

 

WHEREAS, by an act to alter the mode of collecting the
county tax in llarford county, the said county is divided into
four districts, and inconvenience is experienced from the man-
ner in which said districts are laid out: And whereas, the said
county is now divided into five election districts, which, if
made also the collection districts, would greatly contribute to
remove such inconvenience ; therefore,

Preamble.

SEC. 2. Re it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the election districts in Harford county shall, after the
first day of April next, be deemed the districts for the collec-
tion of the county tax, and the justices of the levy court of
said county shall appoint one collector for each district, at the
same time, in the same manner, and with the same powers, as
directed by the original law to which this is a supplement.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all the provisions in said
original law, inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be,
and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the persons qualified to vote for delegates to the general
assembly, in llarford county, shall, at the time and places of
election in said county, on the first Monday in October next
(and on the first Monday of October) in every three years
thereafter, vote by ballot for one person, a resident of the dis-
