STENY H. HOYER. President, Democrat, District 26;
born in New York City, June 14, 1939. Attended public
schools, Coral Gables, Fla,, and Suitland, Prince
George's County; preparatory school in Deerfield,
Mass.; University of Maryland, B.S., 1963; Georgetown
Law School, LL.B., 1966. Admitted to the Maryland
Bar, 1966. Member, Maryland and Prince George's
County Bar Associations. Past president, Maryland Fed-
eration of College Young Democrats; Young Democrats
of Maryland. Member, Young Democrats of Prince
George's County; Omicron Delta Kappa; Pi Sigma
Alpha; Delta Theta Pi; Sigma Chi; Kalegethos Society;
Crescent Cities Jaycees; Mental Health Board of Prince
George's County. Listed in Who's Who among Students
in American Universities and Colleges. Chosen Out-
standing Male Graduate of the University of Maryland,
1963. Member, Southern Prince George's County Board
of Trade. Married. Member of the Senate since 1967.

ROSALIE SILBER ABRAMS, Democrat, District 42; born in Balti-
more. Attended Baltimore public schools; Strayer Business School;
Sinai Hospital School of Nursing; Columbia University; The Johns
Hopkins University, B.S, 1963; M.A., 1969. Served in the U.S.
Navy Nurse Corps. Chairperson, Humane Practices Commission.
Member, Commission to Study Implementation of Equal Rights
Amendment. Member, Maryland Commission for Women. Vice
chairperson, Human Resources and Urban Affairs Committee,
Southern Legislative Conference, Council of State Governments.
Member, National Legislative Conference; Governor's Commis-
sion to Revise the Annotated Code. Member, Fifth District Re-
form Democrats; American Political Science Association. Past
president Maryland Order of Women Legislators. Member, Na-

JOHN J. BISHOP. JR., Republican, District 10; born in Balti-
more, December 6, 1927. Attended Baltimore parochial schools;
Loyola College; Towson State College; University of Baltimore;
University of Baltimore Law School, J.D., 1951. Admitted to the
Maryland Bar, 1954. Served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Member,
Maryland and Baltimore County Bar Associations; National
Society of State Legislators; Citizens Conference on State Legis-
latures. Member, Governor's Commission on Humane Practices.

member, Mental Health Association of Maryland; Maryland As-
