LAWS OF MARYLAND.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That tins Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 65.
AN" ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of
Allegany county to issue bonds, to raise money to
build a new jail in Allegany county, and to enlarge,
improve and repair the Court House, Clerk's office,
and Register's office in said county, and insure the
county buildings and property of said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Alle-
gany county be and they are hereby authorized and
empowered, for the purpose of building a new jail,
enlarging, improving and repairing the Court House,
Clerk's office and Register's office in said county, to
issue bonds to an amount not exceeding seventy-five
thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be ne-
cessary, in sums not less than one hundred nor more
than one thousand dollars, to be signed by the Presi-
dent of the Board of said County Commissioners,
and counter-signed by the Clerk of said Board, with
the corporate seal of the said County Commissioners
thereto attached; said bonds to bear interest at the
rate of six per centum per annum, payable semi-
annually on the first day of January and the first day
of July of each and every year, for which interest
proper coupons are to be attached to said bonds,
signed by the President of the Board of said County
Commissioners; said bonds to be free from all State,
county and municipal taxation.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said bonds shall
he issued to mature at such dates as shall not require
the payment in any one year of more than five thou-
sand dollars of the principal sum thereof.
