CHAPTER 257.

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioner of the
|
 
|
Land Office to continue the indexing of certain
|
 
|
Land Records and extracts of deeds transferred to
|
 
|
the Land Office from the office of the Clerk of the
|
 
|
Court of Appeals, under act of eighteen hundred
|
 
|
and seventy-four, chapter sixty-six.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be.it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That the Commissioner of the Land Office
|
 
|
be, and he is hereby authorized and empowered to
|

continue the indexing of certain land records and

extracts of deeds which were transferred to the

|
Land Office from the office of the Clerk of the Court
|
 
|
of Appeals, under act of eighteen hundred and seven-
|
 
|
ty-four, chapter sixty-six, and such extracts of deeds
|
 
|
as shall hereafter be received by him from the Clerks
|
 
|
of the Circuit Courts of this State, for which said
|
 
|
service there shall be allowed and paid the same
|
 
|
rates allowed by law to the Clerks of the Circuit
|
 
|
Courts for similar services.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Comptroller of
|
 
|
the Treasury, be and he is hereby directed to issue
|

his warrant for such sum or sums as may from time
|
 
|
to time be necessary to meet the cost of such index-
|
 
|
ing, upon the certificate of the correctness of the
|
 
|
same given by the Commissioner of the Land Office.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its approval by the Governor.
