Be it further resolved, That in testimony of his distinguished

 

services in Africa and at Alexandria, that the Governor is here-

size of one silver half-dollar, with appropriate device and

 

motto, also a copy of these resolutions properly inscribed, and

 

cause the same to be presented to Colonel Charles Chaille Long

 

in testimony of the high sense of his services entertained by

 

the General Assembly of the State of Maryland.

Joint Resolution requesting the Senators and Representatives

 

from the State of Maryland in Congress to use their best

 

effort to secure one of the National Encampments, as pro-

 

vided by the Act of Congress, in Garrett County, Maryland.

 

WHEREAS, It has been provided by an Act of the Congress of

 

the United States that four army camps shall be selected in the

National en-
campment.

several sections of the United States for the rendezvous of

 

National Guardsmen from the several States and the United

 

States troops; and

 

WHEREAS, Garrett County, Maryland, near Oakland, has

 

offered a site to the Government on the most reasonable terms,
