belonging to said county, other than that upon which the
court house recently destroyed by fire, stood; they are
hereby authorised to sell and convey the ground upon which
the court house stood, and so much of the public ground ad-
jacent thereto, as they may deem proper, and the remains
of said house, and to apply the avails arising from such
sale, to the construction of a new court room.

CHAP. 36.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted; That the building to be erected
shall be made fire proof.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the Levy Court of So-
merset county, shall be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to contract for, and superintend the rebuilding
of the old Court House, or erecting a new Court Room, un-

less they may deem it more suitable to appoint three persons,
out of their own body, or otherwise, who shall act as com-
missioners to contract for, and superintend the construction
of said building.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That said commissioners, if
any such should be appointed, shall receive a compensation,
not exceeding two dollars per diem, for each and every
day they may severally be engaged in their proper duties.

CHAPTER 36.

 

An act for the revaluation and reassessment of the real and
personal property in Worcester county.

Passed Jan. 25, 1832

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the present commissioners of the tax 01 Wor-
cester county, be, and they are hereby authorised and re-
quired, to meet at Snowhill, in said county, as soon as may
be practicable, after the passage of this act, and there pro-
ceed to appoint one discreet and experienced person in each
election district, to revalue and reassess the real and per-
sonal property in the said county, agreeably to the provi-
sions of an act passed at November session, eighteen hun-
dred and twelve, entitled, An act for the valuation of real
and personal property in the several counties of this state.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the said commissioners
of the tax for Worcester county, are hereby authorised,
and empowered, to carry into full effect and operation, all
the provisions of this act, as well as the aforesaid act of
eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled, An act for the valu-
ation of real and persona! property, in the several counties
of this state.
