NEW TOWN.

Chapter 151 enacts the following:

SEC. 1. The citizens of the town of New Town, in Worcester
county, are hereby constituted and made a body corporate, by
the name of the Commissioners of New Town, with all the privi-
leges of a body corporate, and to have a common seal and per-
petual succession.

2. The free male white citizens of New Town aforesaid, of
the age of twenty-one years and upwards, being citizens of the
United States, who have resided in the said town for, or during
the space of six months next preceding the first Monday in June
next, may on that day at the academy in said town, and on the
first Monday in June in every second year thereafter, be author-
ized to elect five commissioners for said town, who shall have
resided within the limits of the same one year next preceding
the election.

8. A justice of the peace for the time being residing in the
said town, shall appoint by writing under his hand and seal,
three judges to hold the first election, who shall keep the polls
