until the said contracts shall be finally discharged and settled,
all payments made and proceedings had under this act.

    6.  And be it enacted, That so soon as ware houses shall be
prepared and ready for the reception and inspection of tobacco,
under the provisions of this act, it shall be the duty of
the governor and council to cause the inspectors to remove
and carry on the said inspection, in such ware houses as they
may have prepared for that purpose; and if it should become
necessary, to cause the said inspectors to remove all the tobacco
which may have been inspected and remaining in the rented
ware houses, into the inspection houses provided under this act,
at the expense of the state.

    7.  And be it enacted, That the governor and council are
hereby authorised and directed to have the said ware house or
ware houses insured against losses by fire, on the best terms
they can.

    8.  And be it enacted, That the governor and council are further
authorized, if they think proper, to require of the inspectors
of tobacco in the city of Baltimore, that they cause an accurate
draft of the plan of a warehouse to be immediately
made out and laid before them, comprehending such arrangements
for the inspection, safe keeping, reception and delivery of
tobacco, the transaction of the business of the warehouse, and
the security of the books, papers, accounts and other property
of the warehouse, as they shall think most necessary and convenient.

    9.  And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the person
or persons contracting for the building of said warehouse, provided
the governor and council shall deem it more advantageous
to build than to buy, to give bond to the state of Maryland
in such penalty as shall be approved of by the governor and
council, conditioned for the faithful performance of the work
according to the terms of the contract, and the said bond shall
be recorded among the papers of the council chamber, and a
copy of said bond certified by the clerk of the council and under
the seal of the state, shall be as good and sufficient evidence
in any court in this state, as the original would be if produced
and proved.
