jurisdiction of the cause were the same now to
be instituted, then it shall be the duty of the Chancellor
to order the removal thereof to that court which in
his judgment shall be most convenient for the parties
interested.

     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That the order of removal
in any cause shall be final; and this act shall
take effect on the day of its passage.

                                   CHAPTER 124.

AN ACT to compensate John H. Goddard, Richard Butt,
     E. G. Handy, William Cox, James F. Wollard, John
     Davis, William Smithia, and John C. Cook, for arresting
     William L. Chaplin.

25, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the Treasurer of the State, pay
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, unto John H.
Goddard, Richard Butt. E. G. Handy, William Cox,
James F. Wollard, John Davis, William Smithia, and
John C. Cook, the sum of eleven hundred and fifty
dollars, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise
appropriated, for their services in arresting, in Montgomery
county, William L. Chaplin, while engaged in
feloniously carrying away slaves from their owners in
the District of Columbia.
     Authority to
pay.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the time of the passage thereof.
