                                   CHAPTER 41.

AN ACT to refund to Nicholas I. Worthington, sheriff
     of Anne Arundel county, the sum of fifty dollars, being
     the amount of a fine paid by him into the Treasury
     which had been remitted by the Governor.
     Authority to
pay.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the Treasurer of this State, upon
the warrant of the Comptroller, be, and he is hereby
authorised to pay to Nicholas I. Worthington, sheriff of
Anne Arundel county, the sum of fifty dollars, being
the amount of a fine imposed on Levin Gardner by the
circuit court for Anne Arundel county, at October term,
eighteen hundred and fifty-two, and paid by the said
Worthington into the Treasury, which said fine had
been remitted by the Governor.
In force.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

                                   CHAPTER 42.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Tangier Steamboat
                                       Company.
     Two weeks
notice to be
given.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the notice required to be given to
the subscribers to the capital stock of the Tangier steamboat
company, of the meeting to organise said company,
may be given by advertisement in a newspaper published
in Somerset county, for two weeks before the
day of meeting, instead of three weeks, as required by
the third section of the act incorporating said company.
In force.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force from its passage.
