CHAPTER 4.
(Senate Bill 32)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2
of Article 20 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Constables", sub-title "Qualifications", relating
to the bonds to be given by constables.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Article 20 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Constables", sub-title "Quali-
fications", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
2. Every constable shall also, before he acts as such, give
bond to the State of Maryland, with good and sufficient
security, to be approved by the county commissioners of the
county, or the Comptroller of Baltimore City, in such penalty
as said Commissioners and Comptroller, respectively, shall
determine, conditioned "that the said constable shall well
and faithfully execute the said office in all things appertaining
thereto, and shall also well and truly account for all moneys
received by him on account of claims or accounts placed in his
hands for collection, or received by him on judgments, and
shall well and truly pay over the same"; and the said bond
shall be recorded in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for the county, or of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Balti-
more City, and thereafter said bond shall be filed with said
County Commissioners and Comptroller of Baltimore City,
respectively, and a copy thereof, under the seal of the said
court, shall be good evidence to prove the execution of such
bond in any court of this State.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.
