real, personal or mixed from taxation for State, county or
municipal purposes.

On motion by Mr. Brewer,

The report, bill and resolutions were ordered to lie over,
and be made the order of the day for Wednesday, March 29,
at 12 M.

Mr. Lloyd, from Committee on Finance, (by unanimous
consent,) reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1864, chap.
346; the Act of 1865, chap. 194; the Act of 1867, chap.
368; the Act of 1868, chap. 128; the Act of 1872, chapter
36 and 228; and the Act, of 1874, chap. 394, relating to the
Inspection of Tobacco and Tobacco Warehouses, and enact
in lieu thereof the following,

With the following proposed amendments.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 29, line 3, strike out all alter the word "same" to
the word "before" in line 4.

Make the following Section 68.

"And be it enacted, That any owner or agent can have a
hogshead of tobacco re-inspected, by returning the certificate
and sample ot said hogshead to the Inspector, who shall, on
receipt of the same, cause the number to be cancelled and
the hogshead to be marked "weighed and inspected," as
though it had never before been inspected, and shall charge
for the same the sum of two dollars, which shall be paid be-
fore the sample and certificate are delivered "

Make "Section 68" "Section 69."

Pending the consideration of said bill and amendments,

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

Said bill was ordered to lie over and be made the order of
the day for Wednesday, March 29th, at 12 o'clock.

Also, unfavorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to subscribe to the capital stock of
the Baltimore, Chesapeake and Delaware Bay Railroad Com-
pany, or to endorse the bonds of said Company.

Mr. Cooper moved to substitute said bill for the unfavora-
ble report.

Which was decided in the affirmative by yeas and nays as
follows:
