recede from its amendment. After consideration the Senate
has determined to adheie to its amendments, respectfully re-
quest a Committee of Conference to adjust the difference be-
tween the two Houses. We have appointed on the part of.
the Senate Messrs. Knight, Cooper and Phelps.

Delegates.

The hour of 1 o'clock having arrived, the President an-
nounced the order of the day to bs the

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 1 to 13,
(both inclusive,) of Art. 44, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Maryland Hospital," and to enact in lieu thereof
the following to be arranged as Sections of Said Article of
the Code

The question being upon the amendment heretofore sub-
mitted by Mr. Dennis,

To strike out "$52,000," and insert "$15,000."

It was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the secand time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Getty, from the Committee on Pensions, (by unani-
mous consent,) reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act granting to certain soldiers and
widows of soldiers of the war of 1812, a pension of eighty
dollars per annum, to be paid in quarterly instalments.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Lee submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend by inserting "Mary Roach."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stcvens submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add to Baltimore city, "Elizabeth Williams, widow of
Wm. Williams of Captain Buck's Company."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

And in the 16th line, page 4, printed bill, after the word
"city," insert "and the Comptroller shall audit, and the
