1346 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution
be forwarded with the respect of the General Assembly of
Maryland to the President of the United States, the Secre-
tary of the Treasury, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve
Board, the Acting Comptroller of the Federal Currency,
and to the Maryland Members of Congress, urging their
favorable consideration of the basic principle hereinabove
set forth.

Approved March 31, 1933.

NO. 2.

Senate Joint Resolution authorizing the State Comptroller
to distribute certain relief funds in the State Treasury.

WHEREAS, there is in the State Treasury funds paid by
the major race tracks in Maryland in connection with the
so-called charity racing days held during the year 1932;
and

WHEREAS, the said race tracks have already paid certain
of their receipts on said days to Baltimore City and have
arranged to pay certain sums to Anne Arundel, Baltimore,
Howard and Montgomery Counties; and

WHEREAS, the relief funds now in the State Treasury
should be distributed to the several Counties for immediate
unemployment relief purposes; therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the State Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized to
distribute these relief funds, amounting to $49,181.20, to
any relief agency in or to the County Commissioners of the
several Counties as may be designated by the Governor, to
be expended by the said County Commissioners, or by any
agency designated by the Governor for unemployment re-
lief purposes and for no other purpose whatsoever; and
be it further

Resolved, That the amounts to be paid to said agencies
or the County Commissioners of the several Counties as the
Governor shall designate, shall be in proportion to popula-
tion, taking into consideration the amounts to be paid by
