Addenda and Corrigenda

Since the publication of Volume I (A-H) of this Dictionary, additional information
regarding the A-H legislators has come to light, both from continuing staff research and
from material supplied by readers. Especially valuable have been the extensive notes con-
tributed by Brice M. Clagett, Timothy Colcord, and Ernest C. Allnutt. Carson Gibb and
Charles Hart have also given us helpful corrections and additions.

Corrections to the biographical profiles of A-H legislators submitted by readers have
been included here when citations were given and could be verified. Additions to the profiles
have been included when they were accompanied by verifiable citations and when the new
information was of significant import to warrant its inclusion in what must be, by the con-
straints of space, a very brief list of additional material. Information which does not appear
below, including that received too late for publication, is available on microfilm at the Hall
of Records.

The reader should note that not all information in an I-Z legislator's biographical profile
has been added to or corrected in a related A-H legislator's profile. This is particularly
important in cases where the birth or death date of an I-Z legislator has been changed since
publication of Volume I. Therefore, whenever a Volume II legislator is mentioned in a
Volume I legislator's profile, the I-Z profile should be checked. When the information in
the second volume differs from that in the earlier-published volume, the reader should assume
that the data in Volume II reflects a correction based on additional research.
