The question then recurred upon the Resolutions as amended.
The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Duvall, Townsend,
Franklin, Watkins,
Gardiner, Whitaker,
Heckart, Yellott—11.
Lynch,

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Goldsborough, of Talbot; Stone—3.
Kimmel,

So the Senate adopted the Resolutions as amended.

Said Resolutions were then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Lynch, from the Committee on Militia, to whom was
referred the message in relation to the appointment of a Commit-
tee to sit during the recess of the Legislature, and report if any
change be required in the Militia system, reported favorably
said message.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Yellott moved a call of the Senate, when the following
Senators answered to their names :

Messrs. Franklin, Gardiner, Goldsborough, of Talbot, Heckart,
Kimmel, McKaig, Stone, Townsend, Watkins; Whitaker, Yel-
lott—11.

The Sergeant-at-Arms returned and reported that he had
notified the absent Senators that their attendance was required
at the Senate Chamber.

On motion of Mr. Yellott,

The following order, submitted by him on the previous day,
was taken up and adopted:

Ordered, That the Rule of the Senate requiring three-fourths

of the Senators to concur in a suspension of the Rules, in order to

give resolutions more than one reading on the same day be, and

the same is hereby amended, so far as said Rule applies to Reso-
