282 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Aug. I,

THURSDAY, August 1st, 1861.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from the Committee on Finance,
reported favorably on the following bills:

A bill, entitled, An act to pay L. L. Waters a certain sum of
money.

A bill, entitled, An act appropriating a sum of money, therein
named, to pay Charles S. Middleton, Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Prince George's county, for fees in certain State cases;

Which were read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

A bill, entitled, An act to change the place of holding elections
in the Sixth Election District of Prince George's county,

Was taken up, read the second time, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

A bill, entitled, An act to amend the act passed on the 10th
day of May, 1861, entitled, An act to repeal the 19th section of
Article 29 of the Code of Public General Laws, and the proviso
to the 33d section of the 5th Article of the said Code, relating to
the stay of executions, and to extend the time for enforcing the
execution of judgments, the following sections relating, restricting
the operations of said act in certain particulars,

Was taken up, read, laid over informally, and ordered to be
printed as amended by the House.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot,
Three-fourths of all the Senators concurring,

A bill, entitled, An act to pay L. L. Waters a certain sum of
money,

Was taken up, read the third time, and passed by the yeas and
nays as follows:
