The dignity of the State, as well as self-respect, seems to
demand this of us.

Mr. Salmon, from the Select Committee, made the fol-
lowing

REPORT:
To the Honorable Speaker:

The committee appointed to contract for the use of a hall and
other necessary arrangements for the June Term of the Gen-
eral Assembly, ask leave to report:

That they have contracted with the Rev. Daniel Zacharias,
President of the Council of the Evangelical Reformed Church,
for the use of this hall at ten dollars per diem, and one dollar
during the recess. The Committee deem it inexpedient to
make any other arrangement for the use of a room, as the Sen-
ate contracted for their own, previous to adjournment.

On motion of Mr. Brune,
Accepted.

Mr. Ford presented the petition of Matthew Burton, of
Baltimore county, praying the passage of a bill to make valid
a deed to himself from his late wife, Mary Burton;

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
tion.

Mr. Holland presented the petition of Samuel Pattison and
other citizens of Dorchester county, asking the passage of
an act, authorizing an additional constable in Cambridge
district;

Which was referred to the Dorchester delegation,
On motion of Mr. Chaplain, it was
