(House Bill 1157)

AN ACT concerning

Nursing Home Administrators

FOR the purpose of specifying the educational requirements to qualify for a license as
a nursing home administrator; repealing certain reciprocity provisions; authorizing
the Board of Nursing Home Administrators to waive certain educational
requirements for certain persons under certain circumstances; specifying that the
Board of Nursing Home Administrators may grant requests for accreditation of
certain continuing education programs up to a certain time prior to the
commencement of the program; and generally relating to nursing home
administrators.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

8-302.

(a) To qualify for a license, an applicant shall be an individual who meets the
requirements of this section.

(b) The applicant shall be of good moral character,
(c) The applicant shall be at least 18 years old.

(d) The applicant shall [meet the education, training, and experience standards
set by the Board]:

(1) (I) HAVE A BACCALAUREATE OR MASTERS DEGREE IN
