HALL OF RECORDS COMMISSION

During the fiscal year there were no changes in the Hall of Records
Commission. This fortunate circumstance gave the new Archivist the
advantage of a Commission whose members were all well.acquainted
with the affairs of the Hall. The Commission is at present composed
of the following:

HONORABLE CARROLL TANEY BOND, Chief Judge, Court of Appeals,

Chairman

HONORABLE HERBERT K. O'CONOR, Governor
HONORABLE J. MILLARD TAWES. Comptroller
DR. FRANK STRINGFELLOW BARR. President of the St. John's

College

HONORABLE GEORGE S. RADCLIFFE. President of the Maryland His-
torical Society

DR. J. HALL PLEASANTS. President of the Peabody Institute.
DR. ISAIAH BOWMAN, President of the Johns Hopkins University.
Two meetings of the Commission were held, April 5, 1940 and
October 4, 1940. A quorum was not had at the first meeting but the
members present. Judge Bond, Dr. Pleasants and Dr. Barr examined
with the Archivist the question of a publication program for the Hall of
Records. Present at the second meeting were Dr. Bowman and Mr.
Tawes. Judge Bond. Dr. Barr and Dr. Pleasants. At this time the
Commission agreed that a publication program would be desirable.
